Courtney’s story is a testament to the power of fitness and the incredible support of our community. From overcoming mental health struggles to achieving remarkable weight loss, her journey is both inspiring and uplifting.

The Beginning of Courtney’s Journey:

Courtney, born and raised in Wollongong, shares her background as a former school teacher and her love for outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. Despite her active lifestyle, she had never ventured into a gym until about two years ago.

A Second Chance at Rekreate Fitness:

Courtney’s initial experience with gyms was short-lived, but she returned to Rekreate Fitness about six to eight months ago, seeking help for her mental health. She candidly admits that she had faced a challenging year, isolating herself, and gaining weight as a result.

The Turning Point:

Kylie, the trainer at Rekreate Fitness, noticed the change in Courtney’s physical and mental state since they first met. The gym became Courtney’s refuge, a place to rebuild her physical and emotional strength. She emphasizes the importance of having a supportive community during this transformation.

A Mother-Daughter Bond:

Courtney’s mother, Shana, joined her on this fitness journey, proving that it’s never too late to start. The trainers at Rekreate Fitness customized workouts for Shana, and she quickly fell in love with the gym.

Achieving Success:

Courtney shares her weight loss journey, losing a total of 10 kg and dropping from a size 16 to a size 12. Her ultimate goal is to reach 67 kg, the weight she was before her mental health challenges.

The Healing Power of Exercise:

Courtney encourages other women who may be hesitant about joining a gym or struggling with mental health issues to take that first step. She highlights that Rekreate Fitness is not just a gym; it’s a safe space where women empower each other, leading to personal transformation.

Courtney’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of fitness and the importance of a supportive community. Her story serves as an inspiration to women of all ages and backgrounds.
